Steve Parker Land Rovers

About Us, Steve Parkers Ltd, We are Independent Land Rover Specialists, LLoyd St, Whitworth, Rochdale, Lancashire, OL12 8AA. We was established in 1982 in healey dell nature reserve in Rochdale. After a decade of running Land Rovers, off roading them for a hobby, Steve Parker and the late Sam Parker founded the company.

The company began by selling ex-MoD Series Land Rovers, mainly lightweights ( air portables), and then quickly moved onto engine conversions to replace the slow underpowered standard engines in the series Land Rovers. Later the company diversified into the wide range of services offered today.

In 1995 the exhaust manufacturer for the engine conversion decided to shut down so, we bought the machinery and employed some of the staff to compliment the engine conversion part of the business. Now the special exhausts are manufactured in house.

We have also Pioneered many Parts for Land Rovers  to make life better for the Land Rover and its owners, eg, diff pans, swivel gaiters, oil feeders, reinforced clutch release arms for the Defender, Discovery 1 & Range Rover Classic, Ford V6 Petrol engine conversions, Peugeot Diesel conversions, 200 Tdi Discovery & 300 Tdi conversions to name but a few. Many of these parts and conversion have been sold all over the world by our large parts shop and the team of dedicated parts staff.

Our large parts shop stocks genuine parts, quality replacement parts and accessories for all models of Land Rover. Our principal is that the cheapest is not always best. We offer advice to our regular customers and also try to supply all the parts needed to do a particular job rather than just the basics, as no-one wants to be missing a part when everyone is closed. We also offer a mail order service with parts ordering by telephone, the website online shop or our Ebay shop. We keep many parts in stock but also can order Genuine parts for next day delivery to us if ordered by 1pm. We can also order parts form Britpart if ordered before 4.15pm for next day delivery to us ( subject to value).

We specialise in servicing for Land Rovers, particularly with all models of Land Rover Discovery, Defender, Freelander 1 & 2, Range Rover, Range Rover Evoque & Sport. Using the service schedules set out by Land Rover, we have added extra checks and lubrication of our own, which we feel the vehicles need when they have a bit more mileage on them. We also follow the good garage scheme schedules. This is a proper old-fashioned service. Our aim is to look after our customer’s vehicle so that they have trouble free motoring between servicing. We advise on any work required in the future if it’s in the short term or long term ie. Next service, or for MoT time.

If required, we can take the vehicles for MoT testing as well. We also carry out general repairs, cam belt renewals, clutch renewals, winter or summer service checks, brake overhauls & uprated brakes etc. We provide new low cost hire cars for convenience whilst your Land Rover or Range Rover is in our workshop being attended to. We also send out or text Service Reminders and MoT Reminders. We also have the “Autologic” testbook for diagnostics of the computer controlled parts of newer Land Rover Discovery, Defender, Freelander & Range Rovers, Range Rover Sport & Evoque. We also use a help desk support where garages pool problems and their answers to help with the modern day use of onboard computers on these vehicles. The technicians are also regularly going on training courses for these vehicles and everyday common fault finding. We are now able to carry out with our new machine,  automatic transmission cleaning and fluid exchanger from Launch. This is especially useful for Discovery 3 & 4 and Range Rover Sports with gearbox problems

The History . . . Land Rover is a British four-wheel drive vehicle manufacturer launched by Rover in 1948 with the Land Rover Series. Land Rover as a brand existed from 1978 onwards.

Land Rover has a worldwide reputation for building excellent sturdy off-roaders. In 1970, the Range Rover, a combination of a luxury vehicle and a four-wheel-drive vehicle, was successfully launched. The Range Rover was designed to feel perfectly at ease on and off-road starting the trend of the modern SUV.

Land Rover followed Rover when BMW bought the group in 1994 and sold it in 2000 to Ford. In 2008, Tata bought Land Rover from Ford.
